- I find it a challenge to paint scenery from the countryside of Ireland, as so often, it all subtly blends in so there is very little contrast, with lots of foliage and perhaps a smallish house nestled in. The often dull skies also blend in and I find myself using duller and darker shades from my watercolour palette, to achieve this harmonious look
