- Elephants are so majestic and so pleasant-looking and usually very friendly, except when their baby is under threat. I thought this study, painted in oils, of an elephant mother frolicking with her baby in the mud was charming. I used palette knives to create a feeling of abandonment, of unrestrained joy and movement.
