- This Kingfisher was in Peatlands Park in Ireland, where I live. Usually I get a good idea when I'm inspired, which medium to use and anything as bright as this bird just screams, 'Oil Pastels' to my brain. The vivid colours of his blue back and head are easily achieved with good quality oil pastels. I love the contrast between his vivid blue back and his orange-brown front over the grey pastel paper
