- This vibrant, brightly colour painting tempted me to name it, 'gay', as in the traditional sense of the word. It depict the Venetian Masked ball and that confused feeling we would get with excitement tinged with not knowing who is who as we dance around with disembodied masks. The movement created by the heavy use of acrylic texture, coupled by the swirling palette-knife strokes and swirls is enhanced by the wild use of colour and tone and shape. The expressions on the masks represents the variety of attitudes of people who approach us in our daily lives with their masks on, mostly appearing happy and positive.
